Drivr
“An interactive & immersive car chase experience. Control the speed of the scene and set the mood with your soundtrack of choice.”
Drivr is an interactive film experience that allows the user to direct and edit their own action packed car chase scene. By utilizing a steering wheel, a gas pedal, and a brake pedal the user is able to control the speed and direction of the scene with familiar car components. The user has the ability to change the radio station as well which will play anything from classical, rock, hip-hop, or electronica.
FABRICATION
The dashboard is created with a combination of wood and acrylic. The wood pieces are hand cut whereas the acrylic pieces are cut and detailed with a laser printer.
THE CODE
The project was written primarily in Javascript using the p5.js library. C++ is also used to program the Arduino micro-controller. Additional components include two expression pedals, a potentiometer, a switch, and an LCD display.
